Best Seiko Solar Watches Under 300

To follow up on our recent article where we discuss if solar watches are reliable. We have a list of solar watches from Seiko which we think are a must-get. Otherwise, you are missing out on the best solar watches out there in the market. The order of the watches is sorted from the lowest price.

1. Seiko Men’s Beige Nylon Solar Watch – SNE331

Introducing to you the very first solar watch which I personally own.

One of my all-time favorite for its large indices and featuring stencil-like numerals display. The thick and color contrasting luminous hands go perfectly well on the black dial. Having the calendar and date, plus the technology of solar serves time telling well for me.

Amazingly, it’s been over 4 years and I have yet to change the battery nor adjust the time, yet it is still running smoothly and accurately.

This 43-mm stainless steel case with hardlex dial window will not disappoint you when it comes to durability. It is built for outdoors and harsh environment with a 10 months of power reserve after it is fully-charged.

One thing to note is that this watch only has water resistant of 100 meters (330 ft) and is not suitable for water activities such as scuba-diving.

Comfortability comes well with the soft and yet durable nylon band around your wrist. The buckle closure on the nylon band helps you to wear and remove the watch with ease.

Overall, a perfectly durable and stylish outdoor watch to have at less than $100. No other watch I know can even come close to this price point.

2. Seiko Men’s Two-Toned Stainless Steel Solar Watch – SNE042

A dress watch with a shimmering charcoal dial?

Yes, this is Seiko’s famous 2 toned stainless steel solar watch SNE042. 37mm in size, this watch comes with a shiny stainless steel case with elegant gold finishes on its logo, hands and indices.

My favorite part of this watch is how Seiko is able to mix the shimmering charcoal dial with gold color so seamlessly. Its bracelet features a fold-over clasp with push button control that allows you to wear and remove your watch with ease.

A dress watch of such calibre usually does not come with water-resistant advantages. However, this pretty and elegant looking one comes with 30 meters (99 ft) water resistance. Generally speaking, a water-resistant watch of such level is not suitable to wear for water activities such as swimming. Allowing brief immersion in water and brief splashes at best.

3. Seiko Men’s Silvertone Blue Dial Stainless Steel Solar Watch –
SNE361

Power reserve of 12 months after it is fully-charged, say goodbye to the days of changing batteries and having to wind your watch manually after it stops.

A beautiful blue face encased with sharp-looking shining stainless steel, the Seiko SNE361 lives up to its name of being one of the best valued solar watch in the market currently.

Perfect size of a dress watch, 43mm gives an exclusive look to it. The date and day calendar is essential as it allows you to keep away from pulling your mobile phone out of your pocket to check the date.

Featuring a smooth blue dial accented with easy-read luminous hands and markers, this timepiece is handsomely completed with a silvertone bracelet band. With a solar-powered construction, this men’s watch is energy-efficient as well as stylish.

Water-resistant of 100 meters (330 ft) allows you to go for water activities such as swimming and snorkeling.

Something interesting to note is that the color of the dial may be blue in pictures but in reality, it can look like black from certain angles. Overall a beautiful and simple watch to have if you are not looking for something too fanciful.

4. Seiko Men’s Two-Toned Stainless Steel Calendar Date Solar Watch – SNE032

A classic Seiko gold and silver tone stainless steel wrist watch. But what isn’t classic is the technology behind this small 37 mm face, a solar powered dress watch that can run 10 months without sunlight after it is fully-charged.

What we love about this classic looking calendar date solar wrist watch is its gold logo on its pure white dial and a gold second hand around the watch.

Your impeccable taste and demand for high performance are evident when you wear a Seiko Solar Calendar Watch. There’s no need for battery changes with this energy efficient watch which is powered by all light and generates a long power reserve for reliability. Crafted of brushed stainless steel with a white dial protected by a Seiko patented hardlex crystal, it’s a polished bracelet watch for your every day wear .

5. Seiko Men’s Black Ion Solar Date Watch – SNE32

My personal favorite, the Seiko Ion Black Solar Watch. This watch simply looks like it’s from the future but without looking too fanciful. Look how sleek and sharp looking it is, a watch that can be worn for your dinner or casual picnic.

This 41 mm round Black Ion delivers accurate time with solar energy and delivers an exquisite look when you wear it. We find that the bracelet and the watch case are so matching that it flows so seamlessly as though they are one.

Interestingly, most people love this watch because of its gunmetal look to it. Definitely a timepiece you should get if you are eyeing for an affordable and yet expensive looking solar watch to your list.

6. Seiko Men’s ‘Coutura’ Two-Toned Stainless Steel Solar Watch – SNE444

We have seen a few dress watch with solar technology. But this dress watch is on another level, the coutura diamonds embedded on the dial along with its gold indices and hands makes the watch looks close to perfection.

Talk about class meeting technology, this watch is a perfect example. We like how Seiko is able to pull off such style and elegance on this watch, especially on the color combination of gold silver and white.

We just wanted to point out on the heart of this watch, Caliber V157 eco-drive movement – If you know a thing or two about eco-drive, you would know that the caliber used in this watch doesn’t come cheap. Eco-drive basically enables the watch to absorb any light for its power reserve.

Comes with a beautiful transparent case back, this 42.5 mm solar dress watch is perhaps one of the best buck for your money.

7. Seiko Men’s Excelsior Two-Toned Solar Chronograph Watch – SSC138

The Seiko Excelsior Solar Chronograph SSC138 is probably the mightiest looking solar watch we have on this list. If we could describe this watch as an animal, it would definitely be the lion.

Majestic looking with its silver and gold tone combined, even the bracelet gives off a mighty look. We love how Seiko is able to blend in the gold so beautifully and seamlessly into this watch, almost to perfection.

Well, coming to functionality, this watch offers a chronograph complication and a magnified date window at the 3 o’clock. 43 mm, the perfect size for a dress watch, will definitely not go unnoticed in a sea of people.

A smooth multi-chronograph dial with luminous hands offers pinpoint accuracy and easy readability, while the light-powered design eliminates the need for battery charges. For work or weekend use, this piece of legacy is definitely a wise choice.

8. Seiko Men’s Black Ion Orange Finish Solar Watch – SSC233

A fun color combination of bright orange and black which will never grow old. Featuring a solar chronograph with date complication, this 44.5 mm size timepiece is encased with high-quality stainless steel and hardlex crystal.

This watch was inspired by night Formula 1 racing in Singapore and just like an eco-drive caliber, it is able to absorb any type of light for its power reserve.

It delivers high-performance electricity generation and holds a six-month power reserve that you can rely on during your busy schedule. The stopwatch measures up to 60 minutes in one fifth second increments with split time measurement for precise and accurate timing.

Its nylon band is not only comfortable on your wrist but also durable for any type of sports. A fully luminous and fun looking watch like this is hard to come by especially with Seiko. A highly recommended watch for all ages and occasions. Read more reviews from customers who have bought the watch right here.

9. Seiko Men’s Black Dress Stainless Steel Solar Watch – SNE243

The photo above is taken after 6 years of constant wearing of the watch and it still looks shiny and new. This round face watch in polished gunmetal-tone featuring black dial with date window and petite diamond hour markers adds a sharp finishing touch to your business wardrobe.

Perfect size of 39 mm for people with slightly smaller wrist, we love how these gorgeous diamonds are placed as the hour markers here, simply exquisite!

For easy wear and removal, this watch comes with a three-link stainless steel bracelet with push-button clasp. Water-resistant of 50 meters for added convenience and featuring a date window at 3 o’clock, this men’s solar watch is elegant but rugged enough for everyday wear.

With such an exquisite build, you won’t believe how much this watch cost until you see it for yourself!

10. Seiko Men’s Recraft Chronograph Solar Watch – SSC513

We left this watch for the last for one reason. You can’t get this anywhere else except here. Yes, it is web exclusive and people are going crazy over this exclusive watch.

What makes this watch so special isn’t about it being exclusively online, but its unique design and out of the box style Seiko has placed into this watch.

Stay on time and in style with the Seiko Recraft Series Solar men’s watch. Green dial with 3 grey-blue subdials and a brown leather strap add to the comfort and visual appeal of this handsome timepiece.

Additional features include a chronograph that can measure 60 minutes in 1/5 increments, split time measurement function and a 24-hour indicator. Simply put, this solar watch is as versatile as it is trendy.

Pictures online don’t do the watch justice, because it looks simply magnificent and stunning in person. The sides are well polished and the overall craftsmanship is top notched.
